Table Of Contents

October is observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month all over the world. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, as well as in India. It is also one of the cancers with a high cure rate, provided it is detected and treated early.

The objective of the annual breast cancer campaign is to promote awareness of the disease – risk factors, screening, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment- and also to raise funds for breast cancer research.

The pink ribbon is the symbol of breast cancer awareness.

People show their support for this campaign by wearing pink clothing/pink ribbons, volunteering in a breast cancer facility, educating self and others on the importance of early detection and treatment of breast cancer, participating in walkathons and marathons to help raise funds for research, etc.

Maybe you know a breast cancer survivor who is living a healthy life today or maybe you are one yourself.

I trust this article will inspire you to support this cause and help create awareness of breast cancer in your circles and beyond.
