The Joy Of Meeting Offline

Last weekend, after a gap of two years, I attended an academic meeting/ surgical workshop in person.

All these months of online and virtual meetings, conferences, and workshops had falsely lulled me into thinking that we had found an alternate (and in many ways more convenient) medium to communicate.

But the involvement, enthusiasm, and sheer joy of speaking, listening, and even arguing among friends and colleagues from all over the country – made me realize the value of face-to-face human interaction.

The icing on the cake was reconnecting with my colleagues from St. John’s days.
