Dr Suraj Manjunath currently consults at Manipal Hospital Miller’s Road (formerly Vikram hospital, Bangalore), as well as at Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bangalore. His special interests include Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery for Gastrointestinal Cancers, Breast Cancer Surgery ( Organ Conservation, Oncoplasty and Sentinel Node Techniques), and ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocols in oncosurgery.
He has trained in centers of excellence in India and abroad and was the gold medalist in his post-doctoral MCh (surgical oncology) from Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.
He was the first Indian recipient of the United States’ Society of Surgical Oncology International Career Development Award. He has trained in Thoracic and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas. He has also worked at the University of Chicago Cancer Center, and the Detroit Medical Center in Michigan.
Dr Suraj Manjunath set up the Department of Surgical Oncology at St. John’s Medical College, where he was the Professor and Head till 2017, having served there for more than a decade.
